Curriculum

At St. Andrew's we are proud of the breadth and depth of the curriculum we offer our students ensuring they have an excellent foundation in education and life before progressing to secondary school. It is our aim to engage and inspire all our children through a vibrant curriculum that includes a rich tapestry of experiences.

Our Approach

Our definition of ‘learning’ is a change to long-term memory. Cognitive science teaches us that for knowledge to become embedded, it must be encountered many times, at different levels in a variety of contexts. This enables children to apply their knowledge at a basic, then advancing and finally, deep level.

St. Andrew’s learning is framed by termly or half-termly topics which provide an inspiring context for making links across different subjects.

Aligned with the National Curriculum, the Subjects featured on our website are merely a starting point for your child's journey and we encourage all parents/ carers to be active learning partners with us during their child’s time at St. Andrew's.

We have a lot of information relating to our approach to learning, termly topics and subject offering on our website or to find out more contact our learning phase leaders:
