We have a particular emphasis on Reading and Maths where we have adopted innovative programmes including Rocket Phonics and Maths Mastery which are very inclusive and support children in learning as one. Below is a list of our core subjects with downloadable summaries for each:
We aim to develop every individual’s artistic talents by teaching them specific skills that they revisit every year.
Children start with fundamental computing skills in Year 1 and progress to basic coding by Year 6.
We believe this is an inspiring and creative subject which develops problem-solving skills and encourages innovative and independent thinking.
English - Reading, Writing & Rocket Phonics
We strive to impart a love of reading, writing and language into our pupils’ everyday learning experiences.
It is our aim to inspire children with a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
The modern world is shaped by its past and we encourage children to be inquisitive about investigating and discovering how this happened.
Mastering maths means children acquire a deep, long-term, secure and adaptable understanding of the subject so they can apply their knowledge rapidly and accurately.
With over 30 languages spoken by children and parents/ carers at St. Andrew's, we celebrate diversity both within the Curriculum and after school.

Learning about music can have a deep, positive, lasting impact on children. We pride ourselves on our outstanding teachers who are committed to providing the best music education to all of our students.
Our outdoor learning sessions focus on play, exploration and supported risk-taking which in turn helps to develop children's confidence and self-esteem.
We love P.E. at St. Andrew’s and integrate it into daily school life. We aim to instil a life-long love of living an active, healthy lifestyle so children are physically confident as they grow.
Personal, Social and Health Education
PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) and RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) are part of the National Curriculum and taught to equip children with lifelong skills that will enable them to flourish personally and socially.
We embrace and celebrate the diversity of cultures, beliefs and values that our children bring to our school community.
Pupils will be empowered through the use of a broad and balanced understanding of science, developed through fun, exciting and relevant lessons that allow them to successfully transition to the next stage of their education
