Sport

At St. Andrew's we believe that being physically active is essential for life to be lived in all its fullness. We work to ensure that children leave the school feeling confident in their physical ability; with the knowledge, skills and positive experiences that ensure they grow to become happy, active adults.

Physical Education Overview Statement

Every year at St. Andrew's, we run a ‘Sports Cup’ for both Key Stage 1 (Reception - Year 2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6). Each class earns points throughout the year at sports days, sporting events and tournaments, such as football, netball and tag rugby. The class with the most points becomes the Sports Cup Champion!

Taking part in the Sports Cup familiarises children with participating in competitive sport, and it serves as a stepping stone for children to represent the school. All children will be given the opportunity to represent their class.

We participate in sports matches and tournaments against other schools in Brighton and Hove. This has included netball and football matches, cross country and athletic competitions. We ensure that as many children as possible get the opportunity to represent the school in different sports during their time here at St. Andrew's.
