Spirituality

Together as a school, we wrote St. Andrew’s definition of Spirituality:

“Spirituality means having a feeling of peace deep inside that lets you just be ‘in the moment’. It makes you feel alive and connected to something more powerful than yourself. It can be surprising and linked with nature and God but it means different things to different people and that is okay.”

Children’s spiritual development is shown by their:

  • Beliefs, religious or otherwise, which inform their perspective on life and their interest in and respect for different people’s feelings and values.
  • Sense of enjoyment and fascination in learning about themselves, others and the world around them, including the intangible.
  • Use of imagination and creativity in their learning. Willingness to reflect on their experiences.
