Music in the Classroom
At St. Andrew’s, we have partnered with Sussex Music School to deliver a curriculum which helps children enjoy music in all its forms.
All children have the opportunity to learn through listening, singing, playing, performing, evaluating, analysing, and composing across a wide variety of historical periods, styles, traditions, and musical genres.
Our objectives are to develop:
- A curiosity for music.
- An understanding and acceptance of the validity and importance of all types of music.
- An unbiased respect for how music may be expressed in individual lives.
We are committed to ensuring children understand the value and importance of music in the wider community, and are able to use their musical skills, knowledge, and experiences to involve themselves in music, in a variety of different ways.
